Sentinel Blue, a cybersecurity firm for government and defense industrial base clients, partnered with Brevity & Wit to modernize its website and brand identity while preserving the existing logo.

What the Client Needed

A new website and modernized visual identity for its government and defense industrial base clients and prospects.

A glimpse of Sentinel Blue's branding, including it's updated logo, illustrations, and slogan.

What We Did

  • In order to modernize the business, Brevity & Wit pitched a brand refresh to update the logo gradient, enhance colors, and refine typography. Given Sentinel Blue’s work with government and military sectors, the refreshed brand needed to be modernized and become more relatable to its specialized audience, while also retaining the existing brand’s drive and reliability.
  • Refined the logo gradient and developed a comprehensive brand identity guide. We ensured that the brand followed 508 compliance guidelines required for government accessibility.
  • Set up a full suite of branded collateral, including templated presentations and printed materials. Custom illustrations, gradients, an icon library, and sub-brand logos were built as well.
  • Partnered with Digital by Jess to lead and create the page designs that were developed into their new website. The UX across all page designs needed to be as direct as possible to convert high-stakes prospects into leads.

Our Impact

  • Organic search traffic now accounts for 46% of all website sessions, overtaking direct traffic as the primary source.
  • Achieved a 45.7% engagement rate.
  • The flagship Sentinel Shield service page receives 19% of total website traffic, demonstrating effective conversion pathways.
  • Within one month (May 2025), generated 188 new social media followers with an 11.87% engagement rate across 4,876 impressions.
“I appreciate that I can relay a fairly loose concept for what I want to see, and you all do a great job of understanding and translating into something real. As someone who is very much missing the gene that can turn concept in the head into art on the page, it’s a wonderful thing that you all do. I appreciate that you took the time to understand the vibe we’re trying to create, and how all of your efforts seem to have a throughline that can be tied back to our core brand. It has resulted in a very strong brand that our team is proud of, that our employees love to represent, and that our community/clients respect.”

For those of you who are interested in a more in-depth background and description of our process, the below text is for you:

Sentinel Blue came to Brevity & Wit with a clear challenge: their expertise in protecting government and defense industrial base systems was undeniable, but their digital presence wasn’t translating that expertise visually. As a cybersecurity company specializing in high-stakes federal work, they needed to modernize their brand while maintaining the trust and credibility essential for their specialized market.

Brevity & Wit partnered with Sentinel Blue to streamline their visual identity and rebuild their comprehensive website, creating a digital experience that would effectively serve as their primary lead generation tool.

Building on the existing logo, Brevity & Wit modernized Sentinel Blue’s visual identity by expanding its color palette, updating typography, and developing cohesive illustrations into a new brand guide. We transformed their visual presence without losing the recognition and trust they’d established in the marketplace.

The new visual system includes Sentinel Blue’s staple blue palette that’s become recognizable for cybersecurity credibility, as well as supporting colors and updated typography to create a warmer, more approachable look and feel. The brand has expanded to include sub-branded logos to highlight some of its premier services.

Sentinel Blue’s brand refresh and digital transformation involved the following activities:

  • Brand guide development: Refined Sentinel Blue’s existing logo, established typography hierarchies, and defined accessible color applications that maintain 508 compliance standards required for government accessibility guidelines. The brand guide also includes descriptions on how to use child brands and its custom gradients.
  • Website design and development: Partnered with Digital by Jess to rebuild Sentinel Blue’s website architecture, creating a services-focused digital experience that showcases their specialized cybersecurity capabilities. The website emphasized clear navigation, a clear outline of services, and streamlined contact pathways designed to convert government and military prospects.
  • Asset creation: Developed a suite of templated presentation materials, printed brochures, and social media assets that align with the updated brand identity. Several sub-brands have also been developed.

Beyond website performance, Sentinel Blue’s digital presence has expanded significantly with multi-channel growth that demonstrates how a cohesive brand refresh can amplify performance, while maintaining the professional credibility essential for their specialized clientele.
