Power & Accountability

Duration

2 hours

Format

Virtual or in-person

Group Size

Ideal: 25, Maximum: 40

We want to hold powerful people and institutions accountable, but sadly, examples of real accountability are thin on the ground. Instead, our society swings between public shaming and sweeping things under the rug. In this workshop, we’ll explore the real meanings of power and accountability, and how to use each ethically to lead to real change. This workshop is especially designed for people working in news and media.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this program, participants will:

  • Understand what power is and how to use it ethically
  • Understand what real accountability looks like
  • Approach holding themselves and others accountable in a more compassionate and just manner

Additional Information

Based on Minal’s popular blog post “What Transparency and Accountability Look Like in Organizations.“
